Because the game debuts on the same day as Apple's event, there's been some buzz online that Apple will also use the event to announce its long-rumored and long-negotiated deal with the Beatles to sell the band's music in Apple's iTunes music store. Other anonymous sources, though, have denied that an Apple-Beatles deal is on tap.
That said, given company CEO Steve's Jobs' penchant for "one more thing" surprises, the company could have a few other tricks up its sleeves. Rumors and speculation have abounded in recent weeks and months that the company could use the event to unveil anything and everything from its long-rumored tablet computer, to an update to its Apple TV set-top box, to a new, potentially subscription-based streaming video service.
Perhaps the biggest surprise of all, though, could be an appearance by Jobs himself. The iconic CEO, who was out for six months earlier this year on medical leave, during which he had a liver transplant, hasn't made a public appearance for the company since last October, when Apple updated its laptop lineup.
